Don´t miss to undergo Berlin City WestThe Kurfuerstendamm, locally known as Ku´damm, is one of the most famous avenues in Berlin, Germany. The street got its name from the former Kurfuersten (Electors) of the Holy Roman Empire.
This very broad and long boulevard can be considered the Champs-Elysées of Berlin - full of shops, houses, hotels and restaurants. In particular most important famous designers have their shops there, as well as some car manufacturers' show rooms.
When Berlin was separated into East and West Berlin, the Kurfürstendamm became the leading commercial street in West Berlin. Starting near ´Bahnhof Zoo´ - the former West-Berlin main station - near the ruin of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and leads through berlin´s upper middleclass district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.
At the Kaiser-Friedrich-Memorial Church the Kurfuerstendamm change its name to ´Tauentzien (Street)´. Here you´ll find the famous KaDeWe department store and the well known Europa-Center. This is the shopping paradise of Berlin´s Center West and ever been a target of ´special offer lovers´ sweeping from one snip to the buy of the century...
